The U.S. Department of Agriculture has cited Maxsun Produce Corp., Maspeth, N.Y., for failure to pay for produce in accordance with the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act, according to a USDA news release.

The company failed to pay $1,018,384 to 23 sellers for 191 lots of produce, according to the release. Maxsun Produce Corp. is barred from the produce industry until Sept. 12, 2016, when it is eligible reapply for a PACA license.

Additionally, the company’s principals, Yi Chen, Brian Cho and Thomas Qi, may not be employed by or affiliated with any PACA licensee until Sept. 12, 2015.
