The U.S. Department of Agriculture has put sanctions on four produce companies for failure to pay reparation awards issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act, according to a USDA news release.

The following businesses and individuals are currently restricted from operating in the produce industry:

  • International Distribution Co. Inc., Hamden, Conn., for failing to pay a $6,696 award in favor of a New York seller. Charles Leroux and Chongdee Leroux were listed as the officers, directors, and/or major stockholders of the business.
  • Beam Produce Co. Inc., Rome, Ga., for failing to pay a $1,972 award in favor of a Georgia seller. John Beam and Todd Beam were listed as the officers, directors, and/or major stockholders of the business.
  • Fresh Produce Inc., Dallas, for failing to pay a $15,396 award in favor of a Texas seller. Julio Nolasco was listed as the officer, director, and major stockholder of the business.
  • Premier Trading LLC, Greenwood Village, Colo., for failing to pay a $112,710 award in favor of a Texas seller. Anthony Filpi and William Vogel were listed as members of the business.
