Los Angeles-based 4Earth Farms added two kinds of organic chili peppers to its product line, said Mark Munger, vice president of sales and marketing.
The company now offers organic shishito peppers and organic jalapeño peppers.
Shishitos are a milder, sweeter pepper and are great for grilling and sautéing, he said.
“We’re seeing a huge demand on the restaurant side,” Munger said.
The firm grows the shishitos itself, he said. This will be the first year the company has offered an organic version.
4Earth Farms has been selling conventional jalapeño peppers and other peppers for a long time, but converted a field to organic this year and now offers organic jalapeños as well.
“It’s been a great item for foodservice,” Munger said.
