Organic consumer activist Robyn O’Brien and award-winning chef and author Dan Barber will be keynote presenters July 10-11 at the fourth annual Organic Produce Summit in Monterey, Calif.

O’Brien and Barber will present TedTalk-style presentations to headline the educational sessions at the summit at Monterey Conference Center, according to an Organic Produce Summit news release. The summit gathers 140 organic exhibitors with more than 200 retailers and buyers from across the globe. There will also be six more educational sessions, a retailer roundtable and field tours.

“We’re thrilled to have two dynamic and engaging leaders in their fields providing (Organic Produce Summit) attendees with thought-provoking and inspiring content, which highlights the growth and opportunities related to organic fresh produce,” Susan Canales, summit president, said in the news release.

O’Brien is the vice president of rePlant Capital, a financial services firm focused on reversing climate change. She was a founding team member of AIM/Invesco’s first hedge fund of $100-plus million and a team member on their $20 billion Constellation Fund, according to the release. 

She was an advisor to Paul Hawken’s “Drawdown” and has advised startups, banks and multinationals, while working with global management teams in the food industry. Her TEDx talk has been viewed by millions and translated into multiple languages, according to the release.

Barber is the chef and co-owner of Blue Hill and Blue Hill at Stone Barns, both in New York, and the author of “The Third Plate.” Barber also co-founded Row 7 Seed Company, which partners chefs with plant breeders to create new varieties of vegetables and grains, according to the release.

Barber has received multiple James Beard Foundation awards, including Best Chef: New York City in 2006 and the nation’s Outstanding Chef in 2009. He was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world in 2009, according to the release.
