Attendees of the Viva Fresh Produce Expo, April 5-7 in San Antonio, will once again have the chance to connect directly with students from Texas A&M University who are interested in careers in the produce industry.
Viva Fresh show-goers can meet this year’s nine Aggies for Fresh scholarship winners at the Aggies for Fresh reception, 4:30-5:30 p.m. on April 6 on the San Antonio Terrace of the JW Marriot Hill Country Resort and Spa, according to a news release.
“We believe in what the Aggies for Fresh Scholarship Program does to bring bright, young talent into our industry through the Viva Fresh Expo,” said Heriberto Vlaminck, vice president of sales for Triple H Produce, a reception sponsor.
“It is always a joy to share our passion and open our doors to students who want to make a difference and bring new ideas to the table.”
Four of the students are seniors graduating in 2018 who are looking for full-time positions, and the others are graduating in 2019, with a current interest in produce industry internships, according to the release.
“We’re very excited to have a group of eager and talented students join us again this year from the Aggies for Fresh program,” said Dante Galeazzi, president and CEO of Texas International Produce Association.
