Aija Paolillo is the University of Florida Institute of Food and Agricultural Sciences Extension citrus agent for DeSoto, Hardee and Manatee counties.

She succeeds Steven Futch, who retired in 2019, according to a news release.

Paolillo graduated from Florida Southern College and the UF/IFAS College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. She worked with the citrus Extension program at the university, before working with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services as a citrus nursery inspector in the Division of Plant Industry.

“My goal is to help the grower,” she said in the release. “I want to learn specifically what they need to be successful and continue to grow citrus.”
