Mushroom lovers across the country received extra Christmas gifts through a Monterey Mushrooms contest.

The company’s 12 Days of Giveaways social media contest awarded consumers who posted recipes using #MontereyMushrooms. Entries were entered into drawings for aprons, mushroom products, cookbooks and other items.

“People shop for and cook with mushrooms during the holidays and the 12-days contest was a fun way to bring attention to our social media channels and the resources we have for the home cook,” Lindsey Roberts, Monterey Mushroom marketing specialist, said in a news release.

The contest ended Christmas day and Monterey plans to use the recipes in its 2018 marketing plans, according to the release.
