Autumn Glory, an exclusive variety of Yakima, Wash.-based Domex Superfresh Growers, cracked the top 20 of top apple varieties in November.

Ranked at number 18, IRI scan data show that Autumn Glory — known for its sweet, firm flesh and notes of caramel and cinnamon — enjoyed 280% growth versus last November, according to a news release. That was the top growth of any variety, according to the release.

Social media has been a key platform for the variety.

“Firm texture, skin that snaps, and a noisy-in-a-good-way bite is a solid start to winning over New England apple lovers,” blogger Lauren Pariseau said in the release.

For the 2017-18 season, the apple is available through April for conventional and through February for organic. As volume and bearing acreage expand in coming years, the Autumn Glory is expected to become a year-round variety, according to the release.
