Avocados From Mexico has created a culinary center to host its Avo University and foodservice and retail guests.
Avo University is a training program designed to offer category and consumer insights, return-on-investment studies and handling techniques, according to the organization. Retail and foodservice operators and registered dietitians are among those who can participate in that training.
The culinary center includes a kitchen with cooking stations for demonstrations and seating capacity for more than 45 people.
Avocados From Mexico funded the building of the new center, which is expected to be used regularly.
The center, at the Avocados from Mexico headquarters in Irving, Texas, will also pay homage to the history of the organization.
Guests at the launch event of the center included Avocados From Mexico president Alvaro Luque and chefs Mark Garcia and Kent Rathbun.
