Fort Worth, Texas-based Ben E. Keith Foods’ senior vice president of sales and marketing, Ron Boyd, is retiring.

Boyd joined the company in 1981. He has served as general manager of the Dallas and Fort Worth divisions, director of groceries and vice president of division management, according to a news release.

“For nearly four decades, Ron has exemplified the ‘Special Spirit’ we have at Ben E. Keith,” Mike Sweet, president, said in the release. “Through his inspiring leadership, he has fueled much of our expansion and enabled our evolution from a produce company to a broadline distributor.”

David Werner, currently vp of marketing, will assume Boyd’s position effective Feb. 1. Werner’s title will become vp of independent sales and marketing, a newly-created role, the release said.

The vice president of sales development and training, Brian Lynch, is being promoted to vice president of corporate strategy, another new position at the company. He has been with Ben E. Keith since 2002, the release said.

Lynch will be responsible for leading the strategic planning process, finding revenue sources and coordinating key initiatives, according to the release.
