Brazilian grape grower Argofruta will grow Sun World’s proprietary varieties under a new licensing agreement.

Sun World Innovations added the Brazilian company to its list of licensed growers, allowing Argofruta to expand seedless production and give them access to domestic and international markets, according to a news release.

Argofruta, Petrolina, Brazil, specializes in grapes, but also grows melons, ginger, limes, mangoes, guavas and passion fruit. Total Produce PLC purchased Argofruta in 2016.

“We are pleased to appoint Argofruta, to help bolster our presence in the global fruit trade,” Garth Swinburn, Sun World vice president of licensing, said in the release. “We’re confident that providing further access to our seedless proprietary varieties will allow producers to maximize their revenues while increasing the seedless grape volume in Brazil and the visibility of our varietal brands.”

There are more than 70 Sun World licensees across the globe that sell Sun World fruit varieties, including Sable Seedless, Midnight Beauty, Adora Seedless and Scarlotta Seedless grapes.
