The cold storage division has become the company’s biggest growth area at Brothers Produce Inc., Houston, said Brent Erenwert, CEO.
“Everything touches logistics in some way, shape or form,” he said, whether the commodity is produce, meat or something else.
As the local market for produce began to shrink, he said he realized that Brothers Produce is a brand that represents more of a cold storage, logistics operation.
Brothers Produce always will grow and sell produce, but also serves as a cold storage provider, he said.
“We’ve devoted about 60,000 square feet to our cold storage operation, and we continue to grow that segment.”
