Visitors to the California Avocado Commission’s booth at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit in October will have the opportunity to go back in time — specifically, 40 years.
The commission is kicking off its 40th anniversary celebration at Fresh Summit and is inviting industry members to participate with a quiz, according to a news release. A photo collage of 11 commission employees from 1978, the year it was founded, will be displayed at the booth, and attendees can win a California avocado T-shirt if they correctly identify them.
Fresh Summit 2018 is Oct. 17-20 in Orlando, Fla., and the expo floor will be open Oct. 19-20.
“We will have the latest information about the 2019 crop and plan to share new data on the conventional and organic segments of the category as well as ideas for building customized marketing programs for next season with key retailers,” Jan DeLyser, commission vice president of marketing, said in the release.
New booth graphics will include highlights of the commission’s history and a selfie-friendly background showcasing California avocado advertising campaigns, according to the release.
