The U.S. Department of Agriculture has lifted the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act ban on Amon Foods Inc., Hayward, Calif.
The company satisfied a reparation order issued under the PACA, according to a USDA news release. Amon Foods can operate in the produce industry once it receives a PACA license from the USDA. Hussein Tawfik, the officer, director and major stockholder of the company, can again be employed by or affiliated with a PACA licensee, according to the release.
Amon Foods was restricted from operating in the produce industry for failing to pay an $8,670 award in favor of a California seller, according to an earlier USDA release.
