The U.S. Highbush Blueberry Council is rolling out plans to celebrate and promote blueberries throughout July, which is National Blueberry Month.
The campaign focuses on the fruit as a picnic essential and its many health benefits, and will launch with 1,000 TV segments starting July 1, according to a news release.
The council launched a free toolkit of creative resources that includes a Blueberry Month seal, social media posts and recipe photos.
The toolkit is also available to retailers for in-store promotions.
There will be a media push for the holiday on July 4, National Blueberry Day on July 8 and Blueberry Muffin Day July 11.
Council members are excited to drive demand and celebrate blueberries all month alongside industry stakeholders, president Kasey Cronquist said in the release.
“USHBC is working hard to make sure influencers are engaging consumers through recipe inspiration, the Blueberry Method campaign is continuing to drive blueberries to the top of grocery lists, health professionals are talking about blueberry nutrition benefits, and retailers are leveraging merchandising opportunities,” Cronquist said in the release.
A partnership with the Produce for Better Health Foundation will encourage followers to add blueberries to shopping lists and reach at least 500 health professionals through a continuing education webinar.
