Golden Pearl Mushrooms Ltd., Richmond, British Columbia, is recalling pea shoots grown in Canada after the Canadian Food Inspection Agency reported a positive test for Listeria monocytogenes.

The GPM Pea Shoots were shipped to retailers in Alberta and British Columbia, according to the April 19 recall notice from Golden Pearl Mushrooms. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the recall.

The recalled products, which all have lot codes of 10851, are:

  • GPM Sweet Pea Shoots, 230 grams, Universal Produce Code 6 84469 0008 7;
  • GPM Pea Shoots, 100 grams, UPC 6 84469 00012 4; and
  • GPM Pea Shoots, 455 grams, UPC 6 84469 00018 6.

The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, according to the recall notice, and is verifying that the products are being removed from the market.
