Karen Caplan, president and CEO of Frieda's Specialty Produce, is joining other food executives and entrepreneurs to speak at the inaugural Vegas Food Expo.

Caplan and a dozen other speakers are scheduled for the expo, March 30-31 at the Gold Coast Resort and Casino, Las Vegas. Caplan will speak about "Tapping into Fresh Trends in Produce" on March 30.

"It's imperative for us at Frieda's to know what's happening so we can provide what our foodservice clients need to stay current and for our retail clients to be aware of what shoppers are going to come looking for next," Caplan said in a news release.

The expo features more than 130 food and beverage brands for attendees, which include retailers, distributors and foodservice providers.

Brett Ottolenghi, founder of the Vegas Food Expo and owner of Artisanal Foods in Las Vegas, selected speakers for their leadership and influence within the food industry, according to the release.
