Jennifer Garner, who recently added organic entrepreneur to her resume, is the keynote speaker at The Organic Center’s 15th annual benefit dinner March 8 at the Natural Products Expo West trade show in Anaheim, Calif.

The dinner gala is the largest fundraising event of the year for the center, which will feature an all-organic menu and highlight recent science about the environmental and health benefits of organic food and farming.

Garner has spent many years acting in both movies and television, and for the last five years she served as the Artist Ambassador for Save the Children’s U.S. program.

She recently co-founded the organic food company Once Upon a Farm with John Foraker, former president of organic food company Annie’s, and organic entrepreneurs Cassandra Curtis and Ari Raz, according to a news release.

The company offers a line of cold-pressed organic baby food and applesauce and plans to expand to more categories.

Last year’s gala drew more than 500 organic industry members and raised more than $400,000 for research and education.

“The Organic Center’s fundraiser is always an inspiring and very special evening, and Jennifer’s participation will help promote the research and consumer education on organic being done by the Center,” said Todd Linsky, chairman of the board of trustees for the Center, in the release.

The Packer has partnered with the Organic Trade Association and The Organic Center for the inaugural Global Organic Produce Expo, Jan. 25-27 in Hollywood, Fla. For more information about the event, visit globalorganicexpo.com.
