The Produce Marketing Association’s Center for Growing Talent is inviting the industry to participate in a Virtual Wellness Walk/Run Challenge to promote health and support the center’s programs.
Individuals and teams can join the fundraiser, committing to walk or run 30 miles in 30 days. Participants can track progress and join social media groups to qualify for prizes, according to a news release.
“We continue to meet our members and engage talent wherever they are,” Doug Bohr, executive director, said in the release. “In the past several months, CGT has reached almost four times the number of students than in each of the past three years.”
The virtual wellness challenge is another way for produce and floral industry members can connect from around the globe and promote team building while raising funds to support industry talent, according to the release.
Recognitions include largest team, most spirited and highest overall donation.
“Central among the challenges presented by the COVID-19 pandemic is the loss of regular, day-to-day contact with colleagues and friends, the contact that builds morale and keeps a company’s corporate culture alive,” Mark Greenberg, president and CEO of Capespan, said in the release. “It will also raise money for the CGT to allow it to achieve its mission.”
