Brampton, Ontario-based CHEP Canada has added Food Banks Canada to its network to reduce food waste and get food more efficiently to Canadians experiencing hunger.

About 1.1 million Canadians visit a food bank in a typical month, according to Food Banks Canada’s HungerCount 2018.

“This collaboration is a natural one,” Food Banks Canada CEO Chris Hatch said in a news release.

CHEP Cares volunteers will continue to assist local food banks throughout the year across Canada, Paola Floris, CHEP Canada vice president and general manager, said in the release.

“This new collaboration eliminates obstacles and makes it easy for our customers to make much-needed donations to any food bank location across Canada. Now, we can all work together efficiently and fight food waste,” Floris said in the release.
