For September’s focus as Mushroom Month, Cleveland restaurants are launching The Blend To Go competition with creative takes on blending mushrooms and meat.
The restaurants are selected members of Cleveland Independents, an organization of about 80 locally-owned and operated independents.
With carryout on the rise during the coronavirus pandemic, The Blend — a trademarked practice of combining finely chopped fresh mushrooms with meat or other proteins in about a 25/75 ratio — keeps to-go dishes juicy and loaded with flavor, according to a news release.
Through Sept. 26, the restaurants will offer their “Blend To Go” dishes. Participants include: Astoria Café & Market, Blu, the Restaurant; Char Whiskey Bar & Grille; Mallorca, Thyme², West Side Market Café and The Woods.
Participating restaurants and their dishes are featured at www.theblendtogocle.com, along with videos from the chefs, according to the release.
Patrons can vote for their favorite chef and recipe on the website.
