Columbine Vineyards has opened its new sales office The Exchange at Columbine Vineyards in Delano, Calif.
The table grape grower-shipper opened a 204,000-square-foot cold storage facility earlier this year. Using technology, sales staff are now able to watch the receiving line from their desks as well as monitor sales.
Other features of the sales office include huddle rooms for collaborative work, a conference center and a customer service check-in center.
"The Exchange at Columbine Vineyards is an example of new technologies and sustainable practices that serve a greater purpose by being environmentally friendly," Denise Smith, sales support manager, said in a news release. "It is appropriately positioned by the new cold storage facility that has further expanded Columbine Vineyards" ability to preserve the shelf life and the nutritional value of the high quality grapes."
The site"s kitchen tables were made from reclaimed trellis stakes and recycled corner irons, one of several sustainability features. Reclaimed vineyard cross arms were used in a custom logoed art piece.
The new office includes a drinking fountain with bottle filler to reduce plastic bottle use and has made the transition to paperless filing. More than 90% of Columbine Vineyards" customers receive electronic invoicing.
