Egg Harbor City, N.J.-based Consalo Family Farms and its sales arm, Vineland, N.J.-based Freshwave Produce, hired Brad Cantwell and Pepe Martinez.

Cantwell is director of international business and Martinez is manager of international grower relations. Their focus is creating a deciduous fruit importing operation in Vineland, according to a news release.

Cantwell and Martinez will add new products through their connections to growers from Peru, Argentina, Chile, Brazil and South Africa.

Cantwell has spent the majority of his 35-year career at Dole Fresh Fruit as the vice president of deciduous fruit in North America. More recently, he was vice president of sales at the Swedesboro, N.J.-based Sierra Produce East Coast office.

Martinez has 30 years of experience in quality control and post-harvest management with growers in South America, Europe and California. He’s trained and certified in the Food Safety and Modernization Act and Foreign Supplier Verification Program compliance food safety protocols and laws.
