Costa Rica exporters will be at Fresh Summit to speak with expo attendees about their produce.

Exhibitors featuring pineapple at the Costa Rica Pavilion will include Costa De Oro, Isabella Fruit Co., Upala Agrícola and Coopeproagro, which offers organic pineapple. Jalaram will focus on pineapple and root crops, SEMA Foods will discuss carrots, cabbage, pineapple, and root crops, and the Chayote Export Group will feature chayote, squash, pumpkin and root crops.

Multiservicios Sancho Montero will promote its carrots, cabbage and beets, and Balatana/Sura Green will talk about bananas.

“We have seen continued growth with most of our main export crops including banana, pineapple, yucca, melon, watermelons, chayote, name, papaya and other fruits,” Pedro Beirute, CEO of Costa Rica trade promotion organization Procomer, said in a news release. “If fact, banana export volume increased over 18% from 2015 to 2016, pineapple by almost 9%, yucca by 10%, watermelon by 31.9%, and chayote by 14%.

“These statistics demonstrate Costa Rica continues to be a consistent, valuable source for U.S. importers,” Beirute said in the release.
