The Canadian Produce Marketing Association has partnered with NSF Canada to offer online food safety, regulatory and quality assurance workshops in June.
NSF Canada is a division of NSF International, a food safety management solution firm.
The courses will be offered to non CPMA members, according to a news release.
The workshops are targeted toward small and medium-sized local growers, packers and shippers, according to the release, but representatives from the entire produce supply chain are welcome.
The workshops will cover food safety principles, an overview of the current regulatory landscape, Safe Food for Canadians Regulations and an introduction to quality assurance principles, according to the release.
The Safe Food for Canadians Regulations became effective Jan. 15, and CPMA is supporting member compliance through the workshops, according to the release.
The first workshop takes place on three days: June 11, June 15 and June 17. The fee for the event is $80, and registration is available online.
