Curry & Co. is celebrating 50 years in business this month, after starting as Oregon Onions in 1967 and changing to its current name in 2014.
The Brooks, Ore., company specializes in year-round supplies of domestic and imported blueberries and sweet and storage onions, along with blackberries, carrots and potatoes.
“Our company is better positioned then ever for the next 50 years,” Aaron Ensign, president, said in a news release. “All of our programs are experiencing significant growth. We had a very strong domestic berry season that’s led to great import sales. Our operations in South America and Mexico are expanding, both with sales to the U.S. and globally.”
In addition to its Brooks headquarters, Curry & Co. has offices in Los Angeles and Santiago, Chile.
To support its growth, Curry & Co. hired Ruth Campos-Martinez as executive sales director this summer, according to the release. Campos-Martinez came from The Giumarra Cos., where she was export division manager. She heads up sales and procurement strategies for berries for Curry & Co.
The company also rehired Trish Lovell as director of sales and marketing, with a focus on vegetable programs, according to the release.
Ensign said to expect news about the company’s programs early next year.
