Dole Food Co. and Action for Healthy Kids is extending a helping hand to parents seeking food, health and nutrition advice as they navigate the reality of the COVID-19 crisis.

The fresh produce marketer has an ongoing partnership with the non-profit Action for Healthy Kids, which is expanding with Dole’s At-Home Resource Page. It has family-friendly resources developed by Dole from the past, and new information, including nutrition tips, recipes (that children will like and help make), games and activities, according to a news release.

Melanie Marcus, Dole’s health and communications manager, provides research-based suggestions for busy parents.

A Healthy Eating Toolkit from Dole and the nonprofit, designed for parents and teachers, has been revamped. The at-home version includes:

  • Information for eating healthy on a budget;
  • Advice on getting children to help in the kitchen and read nutrition labels;
  • Ways to accommodate picky eaters;
  • Produce-based recipes.
