As part of its first carrier recognition event, Driscoll"s Strawberry Associates Inc. named C.H. Robinson its 2014 carrier of the year.
Flexibility and open communication are two of the key factors cited by Driscoll"s officials in a news release.
Michael van Horn, Driscoll"s director of delivered sales transportation, said in the release that the Eden Prairie, Minn.-based carrier consistently conquers the challenges of transporting perishables.
"C.H. Robinson was recognized for its flexible transportation solutions that support Driscoll"s delivered sales through more than 40 shipping origins and flexible volume capacity during seasonal surges," according to the release.
Other specific performance areas cited by Driscoll"s officials include C.H. Robinson"s ability to handle high volumes, properly manage the cold chain and maintain on-time performance.
C.H. Robinson will celebrate its 110th anniversary in 2015. It is a Fortune 500 company and had revenues of more than $12.8 billion in 2013, according to the release.
