With the completion of The Snack League promotion, Oviedo, Fla.-based Duda Fresh Foods will support five local youth baseball and softball teams through sponsorships for the upcoming season.

Duda worked with The Produce Mom, a fresh produce advocacy brand, to generate ideas for its 12-week grand-slam sweepstakes, which focused on healthy eating during the spring season, according to a news release.

The Snack League provided busy families with easy dinner recipes and quick snack ideas, as well as chances to win ‘game-watching prize packs’ and sponsorships for their youth baseball or softball teams for 2018.

“The Snack League connected America’s favorite pastime with the all-American celery snack,” Dan Duda, president, said in the release.

The grand prize of a $2,000 sponsorship went to the Michigan Drillers, the release said. The secondary sponsorships of $500 each went to the California Padres, New Hampshire JFK Little League, Tennessee Diamond Dawgs and Ohio Death Valley.

“We hope to continue sponsoring youth foundations to not only provide necessary resources, but to foster a love for healthy living,” Duda said in the release.

Duda’s promotion garnered more than 20,000 submissions, of which 800 were solely for the sponsorship giveaways, according to the release.

“As a mom of two baseball players, I know it is tough to get a nutritious, home-cooked meal on the table when we spend long nights at the field,” Lori Taylor, The Produce Mom CEO, said in the release. “I enjoyed creating recipes that would be of assistance to these families as well as bring awareness to the sweepstakes.”
