The Eastern Produce Council has kicked off its 2019 Leadership Program, with a visit to Holt Logistics’ marine terminal in Gloucester City, N.J.

During the April 9 event, the group also toured Greenyard Logistics’ facility in Logan Township, N.J., according to a news release.

Leo Holt and Sander Daniel led the presentation and tour of Holt Logistics, and Steve Marinello hosted the visit at Greenyard.

The next scheduled event for the leadership class is a Food Safety Modernization Act seminar on April 23. Other events include trips to Rutgers University’s farm fields and classrooms and activities at the New York Produce Show.

In this year’s class, there are 21 professionals from various segments of the produce industry. The program is a professsional development program for produce professionals with fewer than 10 years of experience in the industry. The goal is to provide the group with an opportunity to learn in classrooms and field visits throughout the year.
