Kansas City, Mo.-based Fairbanks Scales Inc. has launched an updated version of its FB2550 instrument, the FB2558, which includes faster processing, more memory and an updated operating system.

Up to five of the instruments can be networked to share transactional data from up to eight scale platforms, according to a news release.

The instrument allows technicians to access all menu options through a web accessible interface and to configure and calibrate the machine through a laptop or tablet, according to the release, which enables calibration from the scale platform.

The model comes with short or long platform Axlematic software, allowing customers to secure axle and total vehicle weight to comply with Department of Transportation requirements, according to the release.
