Amazon Produce touts mango carton
Amazon Produce Network, Mullica, N.J., has adopted a “five-down standard footprint carton” for mangoes, said partner and sales manager Greg Golden.
Golden said it’s similar to the standard pineapple container but is a departure from the standard mango box.
“This larger footprint box is superior in stability, display visibility and forced air ripening and cooling performance. We believe this package is simply a better solution for the future of our industry.”
Central American Produce moving
Central American Produce Inc., Pompano Beach, Fla., plans to move its Florida operations to a new location by early October, said president Michael Warren.
The ACL Pompano facility, which is 14 miles from Port Everglades, is going through a complete renovation, including enclosing the refrigerated shipping dock.
The company will continue to receive and distribute product in Texas and New Jersey as well, Warren said.
Del Monte says “Go Bananas”
Del Monte Fresh Produce will conduct its sixth Go Bananas! Halloween Costume Giveaway in September to promote its bananas as an alternative Halloween treat.
Del Monte will give banana costumes to 1,125 consumers who enter on www.dm-gobananas.com or on social media.
Freska Produce finishes expansion
Freska Produce International LLC, Oxnard, Calif., has completed an expansion of its Nogales, Ariz., facility.
Gary Clevenger, co-founder and managing member, said it gives Freska capacity for 600 more pallets of mangoes or avocados.
