The Food and Drug Administration will answer questions in a March 18 teleconference on how the coronavirus COVID-19 is affecting food safety and food supplies.
There is no registration needed to participate in the call, scheduled from 3:45-4:15 p.m. Eastern (participants should call in by 3:40 p.m.). The number is 888-989-8141, and the passcode is 3001967.
The call will be recorded and available online, according to the FDA.
FDA personnel that will be included on the call are:
- Frank Yiannas, deputy commissioner of the Office of Food Policy and Response;
- Michael Rogers, assistant commissioner for human and animal food operations in the Office of Regulatory Affairs; and
- Susan Mayne, director of the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition.
“FDA will provide an overview of current activities, respond to stakeholders’ concerns identified in recent days, and highlight important FDA resources in response to COVID-19 pandemic,” according to the release.
