The Food and Drug Administration and the American Chemical Society are providing a series of biannual training sessions focusing on chemical science related to food safety. 

The half-day training sessions are open to the public, according to the release, and focus on aspects of chemistry, including flavor modifiers, manufacturing processes, specifications and analytical methods.

The first session is called “Frontiers in Flavor Chemistry,” and is set for June 4 from 9 a.m. to noon at the FDA’s Harvey Wiley Building auditorium in College Park, Md.
