Bridges Produce, Portland, Ore., has hired Fernando Rodriguez as a member of its Nogales, Ariz., sales staff.

Rodriguez has a background in produce sales in the Nogales area, starting as a dispatcher in a warehouse to supplement his teacher’s income, according to a news release. Since then, he’s worked for the Produce Exchange, SunFed and most recently was with Frank’s Distributing of Produce.

For Bridges Produce, he will focus on sales, warehouse management and quality assurance.

The company markets Mexican produce from Rico Farms and Floriza Organicos (under the Aztlan Organic brand).

Bridges Produce markets organic and conventional produce from Mexico and other sources.

Organic cucumbers, English cucumbers, zucchini and yellow squash are shipping now, with eggplant starting soon, Bridges Produce President Ben Johnson said in the release.

Rodriguez and other representatives of the company will be at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit expo Oct. 18-19 at booth No. 2884.
