Two free web seminars on listeria are being presented by universities that have received grants from the Center for Produce Safety.

The first seminar is FSMA and Listeria 101, from the Food Safety Lab at Cornell University, 1-2 p.m. Eastern Oct. 8. Gretchen Wall of the Produce Safety Alliance will speak on the Food Safety Modernization Act, and Alexandra Belias, of Cornell’s Food Safety Lab, will speak on listeria. The second seminar is Listeria Environmental Monitoring Program from the Strawn Lab at Virginia Tech, 1-2 p.m. Eastern Oct. 15. Laura Strawn from Virginia Tech and Genevieve Sullivan from Cornell will present the seminar. “This series will demonstrate a Pathogen Environmental Monitoring training workshop developed for produce facilities and packinghouses and is complimentary for all participants,” according to a release from the Center for Produce safety.
