Brooklyn produce wholesaler Fresh Growers Direct has satisfied a Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act reparation order.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture originally sanctioned the company in December 2016 for failing pay a $31,604 reparation award to a California seller.

That action was followed by an administrative action this past July alleging that Fresh Growers Direct had failed to make full payment of $244,508 to five produce sellers from August 2015 to June 2016.

Now the company has been cleared by the USDA to continue operating in the fresh produce industry after obtaining a PACA license, according to a news release.

The company’s principal, Yusufov Yuval, can also now work for and be affiliated with any PACA licensee.

Fresh Growers Direct operates from Brooklyn, N.Y.
