More than 80 culinary students in residence at Toronto’s George Brown College were treated to a dinner and education Jan. 31 sponsored by Fruits From Chile.
The menu, prepared by GBC staff and culinary students, included chicken in nectarine barbecue sauce and spinach salad with Chilean grapes. For dessert, students were invited to make their own yogurt parfait using Chilean peaches, nectarines, grapes and blueberries.
Eastern Canada merchandiser Susanne Bertolas said the students were given gift bags of fresh blueberries, grapes, stone fruit and promotional materials to take home.
The event was part of the college’s Healthy Eating initiative. Bertolas has also created a new Facebook page for Fruits From Chile Canada.
