The new products were launched this spring to take advantage of high-demand Brussels sprouts period in the fall and winter, according to a news release, with an emphasis on making meal preparation for foodservice operators easier.
As demand increases, Gold Coast Packing plans to offer retail packs of the new Brussels sprouts items.
“The product development team observed that customers were purchasing more and more Brussels sprouts,” Crystal Chavez, marketing coordinator of Gold Coast Packing, said in the release. “We saw an opportunity to respond to our customers’ needs and better serve them by creating a full lineup of options, including whole, halved and shredded Brussels sprouts to make preparing food as easy as can be.”
The popularity of Brussels sprouts is moving the vegetable from a side dish to the center of the plate, and restaurants see value in fresh-cut products that can save time in kitchens, according to the release.
We strive to provide exceptional customer service and convenience from our facility in Santa Maria,” Bill Munger, vice president of sales and marketing, said in the release. “Launching additional convenience items will help us meet the needs and requests of our customers.”
The Brussels sprouts are available in whole, halved and shredded foodservice packs, in 5-pound packs, either two or four to a case.
