Howard Nager, vice president of business development for Sun Pacific, Pasadena, Calif., has left the company “to pursue other business opportunities.”

Nager, who joined the company in November 2016, also handled the company’s top marketing role during an interim period.

“It is time that I move on to pursue other business opportunities” Nager said in an e-mail.  “I have thoroughly enjoyed working with the team at Sun Pacific and wish them great success.  They have terrific brands and grow very good product.”

Nager has been in the produce industry for 36 years, in top marketing roles at Del Monte Fresh Produce, Sunsweet Growers, Maui Pineapple and Domex Superfresh Growers. He is on the board of directors for the Produce Marketing Association’s Center for Growing Talent and has been on the PMA board of directors and the association’s retail board, and was chairman of the Produce for Better Health Foundation, according to his e-mail.

He left Sun Pacific, marketer of Cuties clementines and Mighties kiwifruit, effective May 31.
