iTradeNetwork has upgraded its flagship Order Management Suite to make it easier to comply with the Safe Food for Canadians Act.
The company’s SFCA Module helps shippers ensure their products are sent from approved locations with adequate documentation and safety protocols are in place, such as warehouses and packinghouses, according to a news release.
The Safe Food for Canadians Act, according to the Canadian Food Inspection Agency, focuses on:
- Improved food safety oversight;
- Streamlined and strengthened legislative authorities; and
- Enhanced international market opportunities for Canadian businesses.
iTradeNetwork’s Order Management Suite is designed to address these by enhancing traceability, according to the release.
“It allows retailers to have control of where specific items may be shipped from per vendor,” Christian Freeman, OMS project manager, said in the release. “It allows the retailer to have better visibility from where items are shipped, and if an approved shipping warehouse migrates to a new region, it enforces the retailer to inspect the new location prior to approval on future purchase orders.”
The company launched the new module with retailer Loblaw Cos. Ltd.
