Houston-based Brothers Produce has hired James Brock as marketing and media director.
Brock will guide and further develop the company’s overall marketing agenda, according to a news release, including its media relations, social media and community relations endeavors.
“We are excited to have James Brock on board,” company CEO Brent Erenwert said in the release.
“My focus is to grow the Brothers Produce brand on a national level and continue to attract chefs and restaurateurs, but also find ways to connect with consumers at large. Food touches so many lives, and every piece of produce has a story; I am confident that James can help us tell those stories.”
Brock has held various editorial positions with print and broadcast news organizations, according to the release.
In addition to his journalism career, the release said Brock has worked in the kitchens of restaurants in Brooklyn, Spain, Germany and Paris.
Brock joins Houston-based Brothers Produce from the Recipe for Success Foundation, where he was director of advancement.
“Food — and the way it is grown, raised, prepared and eaten — is something I am passionate about, and I am excited to join a family business that shares that passion,” Brock said in the release.
“I look forward to telling the stories of the people who grow the great things that Brothers distributes, of the cooks and chefs who transform them into delicious menu items, and of the people behind the Brothers brand.”
