Nutrition coach and dietitian blogger Stacey Mattinson will promote the onions for the company.
“Stacey’s passion for produce and healthy eating personifies our company’s values,” Jimmy Bassetti, president of J&D Produce, said in a news release. “We’re excited to have her represent us with reaching a younger, consumer audience and educating them on the consistent quality and premium, mild flavor of our HoneySweet onion variety that’s available year-round.”
The campaign will be a focus of J&D’s discussions at the Texas International Produce Association's Viva Fresh Expo April 27 in San Antonio, Texas. The company’s booth is No. 74, and Mattinson will serve samples of signature recipes.
The campaign starts this summer and will be customized for retailers, according to the release. Mattinson and other food bloggers will promote online and other activities include:
- Eye-catching point-of-sale displays;
- New consumer website;
- Digital coupons; and
- Social media contest.
“These marketing activities are designed to help retailer’s maximize sales,” Bret Erickson, senior vice president of business affairs, said in the release.
He said HoneySweets have low pungency levels.
