J.E. Russell Produce Ltd. at the Ontario Food Terminal in Toronto has hired Mike Pirri, a 21-year veteran of the produce industry with experience in wholesale and retail, to head up a new melon and grape program, said Hutch Morton, senior vice president.

“We believe that these two categories are highly complementary to our berry business,” he said.

The company puts its relationships with customers first, Morton added.

“Supplying the highest-quality produce we can source from around the globe, the country and our city is what has animated this company since day one in 1977,” he said.
