Jim Gulick, former vice president of logistics-North America for Del Monte Fresh Produce, died on June 30.

Gulick, 66, of Mesa, Ariz., died of a heart attack.

He was involved in the fresh produce industry for 40 years. He was at Del Monte Fresh for eight years, until February 2016. He also had leadership positions at Ready Pac Foods, Fresh Express and Mars Foods.

He had moved to Mesa to start a new career, according to Bob Spence, a former colleague.

““I worked with Jim at both Ready Pac and Del Monte Fresh and we became good friends,” Spence said in an e-mail. “He had such a can-do attitude and helped me many times over my career. He will be missed by many.”

Survivors include daughters Brandie Wilson, Allison Gulick and Jennifer Gulick; sisters Linda Daniel and Susan Sturgeon; and a brother, Larry Gulick.

“He will be remembered for his many contributions in logistics and operations and by the teams he managed who remember him for his leadership, mentorship and most importantly his friendship,” Spence said in the e-mail.
