Watsonville, Calif.-based Monterey Mushrooms has promoted Bruce Knobeloch to vice president of product development and marketing. 

With the role, Knobeloch is responsible for the company’s gourmet division operations, according to a news release. That division includes the company’s Bonne Terre, Mo. processing facility, their Royal Oaks, Calif., mushroom powder facility and new product development. 

Knobeloch will provide oversight for the corporate food safety program and work with vice president of sales and marketing Mike O’Brien in brand promotion and new product initiatives, according to the release.

Before coming to Monterey Mushrooms two years ago, Knobeloch had a 42-year career in the produce industry, including 26 years at Schnucks Markets in St Louis. During his time at Schnucks, Knobeloch was named the “Retailer of the Year” by Produce Merchandising and “Produce Marketer of the Year” by The Packer.

After leaving Schnucks Markets, he served in executive roles with, Apio, River Ranch Fresh Foods, Azzule Systems and Aggrigator, according to the release.
