Koppert Cress USA, a greenhouse microgreens grower-shipper, is promoting its products via another dimension.

In mid-June, the Cutchogue, N.Y.-based Koppert Cress plans to mail packages containing product samples, encouraging recipients to taste and view microgreens via product samples, 3D glasses and a link to a 3D video.

The packages include oyster leaves, apple blossoms, majii leaves and sechuan buttons.

The experience is designed to allow participants to feel as if they were inside a greenhouse tasting the plants, said Natalie Dinina, marketing manager.

Koppert Cress, which grows living cress, cut microgreens and specialties, sent an e-mail blast and the first 50 respondents that registered received the 4D Plant-experience, she said. 

In the video, Rob Baan, Netherlands-based Koppert Cress" owner, walks through a greenhouse and explains the plants" benefits and uses in cuisine.

"I hope this trial of all the flavors you got will give you an idea of doing much more in the future. Food is fun equals health, enjoy," he said.

The promotion is offered in conjunction with Food Inspiration Magazine and in April, Koppert Cress sponsored a similar contest in Europe through the magazine.
