LGS Specialty Sales Ltd., New Rochelle, N.Y., has launched a food and lifestyle blog called “Darling Dish.”
The company offers recipes and information on its products, including Darling Citrus, Suave Avocado and Tiny Tim’s small avocados, through the blog, at https://blog.lgssales.com/. The company also has its first consumer sweepstakes, Squeeze the Day, to promote citrus, raise funds for non-profits and encourage shopper brand advocacy, according to a news release.
The weekly Darling Dish helps build brand loyalty through news about upcoming promotions, and information on growers and new products.
“The blog is an opportunity for us to share our unique story and relationship with farmers around the world,” Luke Sears, president and founder of LGS, said in the release. “We want to extend the invitation for people to see a behind-the-scenes view of our company's culture and growing operations to cultivate a greater relationship and connect readers to stories from our groves abroad.”
Through October, consumers can enter the sweepstakes to win $500, and the opportunity to choose one of four charities to receive $500. The charities are Brighter Bites, Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Hope Community Service and Susan G. Komen.
LGS also plans to ship clementines to classrooms across the U.S. through December, to continue a commitment to supporting healthy communities, according to the release. Every month, consumers can go to the LGS website for a chance to receive 10 pounds of Darling Clementines for a chosen classroom, according to the release.
