GreenFruit Avocados, Newport Beach, Calif., has hired Lisa Cabuto and Dave Culpeper to its sales team.
Cabuto is senior sales representative and Culpeper is senior account manager, according to a news release.
Cabuto has 25 years of experience in the produce industry, including multiple positions at the Los Angeles Wholesale Produce Market, according to the release. Most recently, she was a buyer for Northgate Gonzales Markets, playing a key role in direct programs with grower-shippers.
"The strong business relationships she has built with Mexican grower-shippers over the course of 25 years in the produce business will also provide the company with fresh insight on how to collaborate most effectively with all of our U.S. and international partners,” Kraig Loomis, GreenFruit sales manager, said in the release.
Culpeper’s experience with avocados began in Escondido, Calif., where his father managed citrus and avocado ranches. After serving in the U.S. Air Force, he was a charter employee at West Pak Avocado, and has spent more than 30 years there, most recently as sales manager and import-export director. Culpeper helped build West Pak’s sales infrastructure and international operations in Mexico and Chile, according to the release.
“We are well positioned as a vertically integrated avocado grower and packing house,” Dan Acevedo, director of business development at GreenFruit, said in the release. “But to have someone as uniquely qualified as Dave Culpeper bring his talents to our organization and assist with our continued growth is very humbling."
The sales hires and recent move to a larger facility are part of an aggressive expansion strategy at the company, according to the release.
