The National Mango Board is starting a retail-focused mango selfie campaign in January.

Retailers can participate by featuring mangoes for a least a week by using a large display with National Mango Board point-of-sale materials designed for the campaign, according to a news release. The window for the promotion is Jan. 14 to Feb. 24.

Produce managers who submit a photo of their display can receive a $10 Visa gift card.

Shoppers can enter to win $25 by taking a selfie with a mango and posting it on a public Instagram account, using the hashtag #mangoselfie, tagging the National Mango Board, and following the mango board account. Ten entries will win each week of the campaign.

“This consumer sweepstakes is a great opportunity for retailers to engage with shoppers and have fun selling mangos,” Valda Coryat, director of marketing, said in the release. “Mango, traditionally seen as a summer item, is enjoying significant uplift in volumes and sales during the non-traditional times of the year, therefore it is important for retailers to promote mangos year-round. This promotion will help put mangos front and center while both shoppers and retailers win some great incentives.”
